This month's Guest Designer I have followed her on Instagram for some time and her work is pretty AMAZING.  She has a very distinct style that includes lots of layers and that has lead her to being a team member of some pretty fantastic Design Teams including Hip Kit Club.  I would like to introduce to you Terhi Koskinen.

I ask all my Guest Designers to send me a little bit of a bio and this is what Terhi says about herself:
"I'm a scrapbooker from Finland. Mother. Wife. Dog owner. Friend. Sister. Daughter. Horseback rider. I'm a papercrafter with lots of inspiration and addiction to make beautiful things.
Scrapbooking is more than a hobby for me, it's a lifestyle - it starts with grabbing a photo and ends when I get my creation where I wanted. And then it starts again. Surrounding myself with pretty things and my family is how I want to live my life.
My creations are filled layers, straight lines, and techniques I want to try out. My biggest passion is to make scrapbook layouts, but sometimes I'm inspired to alter some daily used objects.
Find my blog at, there's links to my, Facebook and other social media channels!"
And here is Terhi's take on Rikki's Moodboard.

Well, it's the middle of the month and you know what that means...It's time to share our Homegrown Guest Designer for August.  This month's Homegowner is a lady that I have been lucky enough to actually meet in real life and she is just as freaking awesome and cheeky as she appears to be through her art.  She is a very busy mum of two that has her own scrapbooking business, Flutterby Designs.  I am pleased to welcome Anita Rodway.

"So you know you're an artist if you go through a glue stick faster than a lipstick!? Well that's me!!  Hello, I'm Anita.  Graphic Designer / Full-time mummy to one boisterous 4 year old boy and a beautiful 1 year old girl (enjoying every bit of it!!)  & married to my best friend, Chris.  We live in Tamworth, the country music capital of Australia.  My love of art started at a young age and I had chosen my career pretty early.  I have always loved mixed media and the design process.  Never shying away from getting my hands messy.  I am lucky enough to say the quote "Do what you love, love what you do" applies to me.  I started scrapbooing about 10 years ago and I haven't stopped.  I have however since forgotten other basics live vacuuming, cooking etc - but we get by LOL.  Paper and paint are like therapy to me.  It calms me & satisfies my arty desires.  I have been on numerous Design and Creative Teams.  I am curretnly designing for Flutterby Designa dn Show Us Yout Stuff (Yay!!)  I've had layouts plublished in magazines such as Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbooke Creations and Jot Magazine,  I have made many friends and met some awesomely talented people through scrapbooking that inspire me everyday.  I am truly grateful to have met them all.  My blog:"

And here is Neet's take on this months Moodboard...These are totally her colours.

Neet's style it all about layers and paint.  She just nails it everytime.

What do you think?  I love that there is so much to look at and every time you look you see something different.

I will be back in a bit with our International Guest Designer for August.  She is from Finland and has a very distinct style.  Any guesses?

This sketch proved to be very popular for everyone to just follow as it was. There were a few that tried to change it up or flip it but the majority just kept it as it was.  It was an easy sketch to follow and just as easy to make it your own without too much work.  Thank you to everyone that linked up.  I was just blown away by the entries this month.

The winner of the July sketch challenge is.... Ros Coutts!

As soon as I lay eyes on this layout, I was transported to the seaside.  The freshness of the salt air and cool summer breeze.  I am not a lover of summer usually but this layout had me wishing for summer to hurry up!

Ros if you can send me an email to I will arrange with Ev from Scrapbook Boutique to get in touch with you to claim your prize.

A massive thank you to Scrapbook Boutique for sponsoring Scrap the Girls last month.  I appreciate it so much.

In the meantime, have you planned your entry for this months Moodboard challenge?  Don't forget to link up or share it on the Facebook wall.

Happy making stuff

August Moodboard Challenge

Hi Everyone, We are officially more than half way through the year and entering the depths of winter.  I was lucky enough to spend some time down in Melbourne for a Retreat at the end of last month and I can tell you that Queensland seems cold until you travel down south.  It was freezing but I honestly didn't go out side much. There is no need to when you have some wine, a scrapbooking shop and some great like minded friends all in the same room.  Enough about me and trying to get over my retreat hangover... Let's get on with this months challenge.  A Moodboard by the lovely Rikki with all the blues of the cold winter chill.

There is a bit mixed media and cut files amongst this series of layouts from the Design Team. It's so good that everyone has interpreted the challenge so differently.

This months challenge is sponsored by Colour Blast Australia.  The prize is a $25 voucher to start of your Colour Blast addiction.  If you haven't tried it already, trust me it will become an addiction. Head over to the Colour Blast blog for some inspiration and a link to the shop to stock up..

I can't wait to share this months Home Grown Guest Designer and International Guest Designer.  They have some fantastic layouts ready to share with you.  Keep and eye on the Facebook page later in the month to see if you can guess who they are before they are announced.

In the meantime, I can't wait to see what you all come up with for this months "Wish" moodboard.  Also keep an eye out for last months winner in a few days time.

Until then happy making stuff.

Hi, I'm back again for the second NEW share this month the International Guest Designer.  The first International is one that has played along with Scrap the Girls for sometime now.  Her take on the sketch is fantastic. Her use of papers in her layouts amazes me.

Please welcome ROMY VEUL.

"My name is Romy Veul and I'm a 23-year-old scrapbooker and cardmaker from the Netherlands. I have been scrapbooking for almost half of my life, as I started scrapbooking when I was only 13 years old. I love this hobby, as it is a great creative outlet and a wonderful way to document my memories. Besides scrapbooking, I have just got my master's degree as  a linguist at University and currently working as a junior researcher. When I'm not working or scrapbooking, I love to spend time with friends and family.

I really loved the sketch and had lots of fun working with it. I was inspired by the two clusters of embellishments and papers in the sketch and by the circles. I replaced the circle-shaped papers by two chipboard circles. The girl in the picture is my adorable niece Elise. Isn't she just too cute in her Spanish dress?"

How great is it to see a different size other than 12x12?  And what a great first Homegrown Designer!

I will be back next week with our first International Guest Designer.  She is from Holland and is only young but very active in the world of blog challenges.  Have you worked out who she is yet?
